Meanwhile, Over At Wedding Nugget....
There are some big changes planned for Wedding Nugget come 2014, but in the meantime, it updates daily with deals I find on all things weddings.
A few recent ones:
1. Sure, the wedding is all about the bride, but there is a groom involved and he needs a gift. These are watches we like.
2. Red. Hot. Holiday. Heels. No elaboration necessary.
3. Just give me some of that old fashioned wedding bling and no one gets hurt.
4. Long bridesmaid dresses work for pretty much every theme.
5. Winter bride? Better get some Uggs.

Meanwhile, Over At Wedding Nugget...
1. I have a slight obsession with Vera Wang's home collection, partly because it uses so much black.
2. BHLDN has 12 new wedding dresses.
3. Blue by Betsey Johnson is 25% off, with free shipping.
4. Nom. Nom. Nom. Chocolate favors on sale.
5. Black diamonds, if you please.

Meanwhile, Over At Wedding Nugget....

If posting has been light here it's because it's en fuego over at Wedding Nugget.
1. Tons of reception decor is on sale through July 21st.
2. Be lady and rock some pearl earrings on your big day.
3. Yes, you can re-purpose that bridesmaid dress. Here's how.
4. Get a great deal on modern wedding invitations -- especially if you need a lot of them.
5. Every day there is evening wedding Zen.

Incredible Movie Trailer Proposal
The movie theater proposal is the oldest trick in the book, but this one is epic. A guy in Illinois created a movie trailer to surprise his girlfriend with a proposal. Must watch.

Sevilla Wedding
Just when I think I've seen everything when it comes to weddings, I stumble across this wedding video from a couple who tied the knot in Spain. I don't even know these people and I wish I had been there. Romance oozes out of every single scene in a hip, non-goopy way.

A Few From The Wedding
I have a million photos from the wedding this weekend, but let's start with these favorites:
Notable is the cake, which you'll notice is made to look like a poker table. This is because the bride and groom, Nasreen and Jim, met when Jim came to look at a poker table Nasreen was selling on Craigslist. I love the story because even with all the online dating tools available, sometimes the love of your life literally shows up at your doorstep.

A Great Interview With Vera Wang
In light of the piece last week about liking fashion without being a twit, check out this interview with Vera Wang.
One of the best take aways from this is how she talks about that doing anything is all about the process, not the destination. Important to remember when you are working on any creative endeavor, be it a book or an animation or design. You'll get to the end, sure, but the meat and potatoes is along the way.

Let Wedding Depression Season Begin!
I love all things weddings, and this Saturday Night Live skit actually had me laughing out loud. Because attending perfectly planned weddings can be hard on the psyche.

I'm one of four talking heads in this Huff Post Live segment about bachelorette parties. Fun piece to be part of.

Who Needs A Groom?
The Today show did a piece about the not-so-uncommon habit of women planning their weddings long before they have a groom. Pinterest has made this phenomenon much easier. I can't help but think the weekend anchors are making fun of these women, who really are guilty of nothing more than being romantics. No shame in that game.

Yikes! Stripes!

When it comes to wedding dresses, sometimes it seems like a lot of the same: a flower here, a scalloped hem there, throw in a ruffle if you're feeling zany. This year there have been some great trends, such as gold, but that can be a bit much if you're leaning towards traditional.
Enter the stripe! About a week or so ago I saw this ad in a bridal magazine, and I was struck by how pretty the dress was, thanks to the delicate stripes. A few minutes later saw the same dress in another incarnation in another magazine.
I started clicking around the Pinterest and found even more striped wedding dresses. I realized this is a thing, and one that deserves attention. So I made a slideshow. Enjoy!

Happily Ever After, On Display
Always the wedding nerd, I stopped by the New York Magazine wedding show yesterday in Chelsea -- and it was amazing. The Metropolitan Pavilion is one of my favorite venues for events in Manhattan. The New York magazine people really did it up with live music, amazing vendors and an open bar.
I went to talk with vendors about Wedding Nugget, and a lot of people seemed very excited. Next week there will be much follow up.
There were gorgeous dresses everywhere.

These women were real troopers, just standing around all evening like Greek goddesses. Nice work, if you can get it?

As much as I love dresses, I also love a great tablescape. The women who run Another Wild Hare had a great one. Maybe the only ones there embracing a rustic theme?

Totally bribed Andre with French fries afterwards, since I had to drag him with me. He was a good assistant. I'm rolling solo at the next show, though.

Off We Go!
Here it is, ladies and gentlemen, my very last piece for SheFinds, appropriately, one about bachelorette parties. After writng the column for nine months, I'm focusing on my new project, Wedding Nugget, a deals site for brides. It should be live with a few pre-sales by the end of this week and officially live the week of April 8th. Gird your loins!
In the meantime, get on the list, as some deals will go out to subscribers before they are live on the site.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
This week I'm wrapping up writing for SheFinds in order to start a new project. But today, one of the last pieces I've written for them is how to be the happiest bride ever -- because you should be! People forget this part when they are stressing over guests lists and color schemes.

Put The Gloves Down
Meddling in-laws are one of the biggest cliches around, especially when dealing with weddings. We all know that there are decisions only the bride can make, and whenever someone tells me they're getting married, it takes about five minutes before in-law complaints surface.
It doesn't need to be a battleground. There are actually areas where an eager beaver mother-in-law can come on handy. We sorted it all out over at SheFinds today.
