This morning's rain reminded me that when it pours during the morning commute New Yorkers Lose. Their. Minds. Forget about letting someone with a small child get on the bus first. He with the strongest will and largest umbrella gets on the crosstown bus first.

Although this morning's rain certainly justified wearing bright Hunter boots, which we know the ladies love.

I'm Beginning To Think The Weathermen Are Lying To Us

Every day I check the weather (an avid obsession of mine) and every day I see that thunderstorms are predicted in New York City, or at least scattered in the area.

Yet, it hasn't rained since, what, Easter?

Which brings me to my theory (of which I always have many): I think that weathermen are telling us it's going to rain, to give us false hope in this soul-deadening heat. Because if we looked at the forecast and only saw oppressive heat, morale would sink lower than it is in Manhattan. But if you dangle the chance of a refreshing shower in front of the masses, we have a false glimmer of hope that the heat may subside. And so we carry on.

Lamest. Snowstorm. Ever.

The weathermen totally blew this snowstorm out of proportion. It's so lame TR and I and the boy went out and about our normal business in Union Square. No battening down the hatches for us.

Andre fell asleep shortly after this was taken.

It's Raining. Meh.

just another amazing NY moment..., originally uploaded by mihay.

The weather channel has a blog about this rainstorm. Wind! Flooding! Destruction! Good times!

Last night I was dragged to the Westport Country Playhouse, where many a great actor has graced the stage including Paul Newman, Liza Minelli, etc. I saw a confusing play called "All About Us" which was about a half hour too long and leaned on the hokey side. However, Eartha Kitt was in it and she was phenomenal. I think she's about 81 years old now.

I filed for an extension to finish my taxes, and for some reason this makes me feel lazy. The last time I filed for an extension I was in college. Hmm. Am I regressing?
