All Eyes on Katrina

[I think it's awesome how this woman, stuck in a shelter in Pearl River, La. is reading a book called, "Daily Life in Chaucer's England" amongst the chaos that surrounds her. She even has a fancy bookmark!]

I don't know what the good folks at KFC put in my chicken wrap last night, but I slept like a log. Like, out cold. Elephants could have tap-danced in my kitchen and I wouldn't have noticed. Then again, I could have just been really tired...

It's another day, another dollar and I am once again occupied with all things Katrina here at The Job. That's fine, considering all I did last night was consume the aforementioned chicken wrap and see "The March of the Penguins." Great flick, by the way. Go see it.

In the meantime, here are a few links. Apologies if you came here looking for more interesting fare. It's just that there's sort of this natural disaster...Anyway, next week might be more interesting, complete with photos. I'm actually leaving the city this week-end.

Onward, upward...

A story about the hospital situation in New Orleans.

A New York Times editorial about why we should be able to blog about work.

A smattering of half-truths about Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey

A woman is suing a county in Washington state because scientists harvested her brother's brain for bipolar and schizophrenia research without first checking with the family. Dang.
