Tribeca Grand, Indeed.

Untitled

As a long time New Yorker, I am fascinated by the untouched parts of the city. Despite the rush of development over the past 10 years, there are still parts of Manhattan that are as authentic as they were decades ago. The West 30s, Sutton, even Carnegie Hill are virtual time capsules in a city that prides itself on evolution.

Today while walking on Watts Street in Tribeca, I was admiring the slightly rough looking, but still intact brownstones, many of which still have the painted signs on their exteriors of what they were before the neighborhood got fancy. One particularly large building had its gate open, and inside was a garage. The garage clearly led to a backyard area as well. You know you've made it in Manhattan when your car literally steps from your front door.

Of course, this being Tribeca, someone parks their Mercedes in it. Keep it real, New York.

Could Everyone Get Around The Tree?

Another Saturday night, another holiday party. This one found Erin C. and I in Tribeca, in a room lit by an enormous white Christmas tree -- on a table.

Life is all about experimenting with available light.

Arty or just blurry? Hipster album cover?

Erin with the hostess, Roseanne. She put together a great spread -- with tons of Prosecco. Bonus points.

I tried some new things, hair wise. This one is actually inspired by Rhoda on the Mary Tyler Moore show, in an episode where she wins a local beauty pagaent. Long story.

Future versions will be more curly and romantic, and less Jersey prom.
