Fendi Baguettes!
I love that these are back. Baguettes have always been my favorite shape for a purse.
An entire book was written about the history of Baguettes.

Huffington Post Blog: Never Underestimate Women's Vanity
I'm at it again over at the Huff Po. This week: Why discount retailers should focus on women's need to look good, even in a recession.
Never Underestimate Women's Vanity
"In uncertain economic times women may not go to Saks to buy a pretty blouse or some perfume, but they will go to outlets and discount stores to get the same brands at lower prices. I predict that in the next few months stores such as Filene's basement, T.J. Maxx and Loehman's will see a rise in sales as people, especially women, want to maintain the mental illusion of luxury that they created for themselves when the economy was more robust."

The Weekend Continues...

The weekend is going well over here on Planet Pauline. Last night we marked Christine's 30th birthday with a dinner over at the SoNo Seaport. Good times were had by all. And in true, large group dinner situation, the bill did not come out right even though everyone claimed to have paid their share. Hmmmm...

I'm in the middle of readng Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster by Dana Thomas. It's a great read if you're into luxury purses and want to know how much you're being ripped off for that Louis Vuitton Speedy. (The answer is that they're marked up up to 13 times.) It's not much of a beach read, but still worth your lunch money.
Speaking of the beach, I made it out to Tod's Point in Greenwich yesterday for one last hurrah of sun.

Bag, Borrow or Steal -- My Time!
Some of you may have been wondering where I've been for the past few days. The short answer is cruising Bag, Borrow or Steal. The site has been around for a while, but thanks to some insomnia and a credit card that was too close at hand, I got sucked in.
I love handbags, but not large bags. I'm not a large bag kind of gal unless I have to drag my laptop somewhere. I do, however, like a nice looking sack, and Bag, Borrow or Steal solves a lot of of my purse ADD. My apartment is littered with handbags mines all over the place. Thanks to this site, I can send back a bag when I am done with it. It's genius!
