Christmas Computer Help!

Yesterday afternoon I was on the phone and somehow my computer slipped off the couch and landed on the hardwood floors. It still works, still picks up a WiFi signal, only the screen is black.

My guess is that the six-inch fall messed up the video card. Given that it's Christmas, I haven't tried to call Dell, because I'm not really sure what they could do for me.

Anyone know a good tech person/place in NYC that I could bring my lap top? I got it in early 2007, and it runs great. I just need to fix the monitor.

I Need Computer Help!

Two days ago my internet went out. One minute I was on, the next minute it wasn't connecting anymore.

It's weird: it has I have an excellent connection, but when I open Mozilla the screen says I can't connect. Is there something being lost in the translation? I've tried everything from repair my connection, disabling and then reconnecting my modem, I even put in the new version of Mozilla a few weeks ago.

If anyone has ANY insight, please let me know. The computer is about a year old and usually runs great. If you want to come over and tinker with it, be my guest.
