Happy Halloween

I'm busy in the best way possible this week, wrapping up a few pieces. Lots to read next week, when it all runs.

Hurricane Sandy was a year ago, and this TED Talk came over the transom this week. Once the storm passed and the power was out in Manhattan, like everyone else, I was in a mad scramble to charge my phone and other devices. Novelist Abha Dawesar was also part of the blacked-out masses, eager to get back online. Her talk explores what being without access to the abstract, digital world showed her.

Who Says Kids Don't Pay Attention?

This guy seems to know how to do it. Saint Vartan's Park, Murray Hill. Perfect day for Halloween tom foolery.

Not that Andre had much interest.

Angry Birds Halloween

If this Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy has any teeth, it looks like Halloween could get rained out. Luckily, the Angry Birds people have put out this little cartoon for when we're holed up in our highrises.

Things That I Find: Zombie Cookie Cutters

It's October, which means that everyone's starting to get their Halloween on. It's one thing to make pumpkin or bat cookies, but zombies -- talk about being on trend.

Sur La Table has lots of original nick nacks for Halloween. Definitely worth checking out.

Halloween 2.0

Andre's pre-school Halloween party got snowed out last weekend, so they tried it again today. Perfect weather, tons of food and families. St. Vartan's Park in Murray Hill was quite the scene for the under-five set.

Since I'm at work all day and Tom takes the boy to pre-school, I think some people were surprised to see that Andre does, in fact, have a mother. (And she wears golden shoes!)

Happy Halloween, Everyone!

We dressed Andre up in his lobster costume today and hit Union Square, where every third person had to ogle our little crustacean. TR and I were supposed to be chefs, but the costumes never came in! Hiss, boo, Amazon!

Full monty in the stroller.

It's exhausting being so cute.

Wow! At the diner.

Andre's lobster hat even fit me.

Halloween at The China Club!

Halloween at The China Club was one of my favorite nights to shoot so far. Getting a good shot was like shooting fish in a barrell, because everyone came dressed to the nines -- in costume. I love people who take Halloween seriously.

Below are some of my faves. The full set can be found here.
