As much as I love technology, people staring into their phones while at parties and bars is a top pet peeve. In my day when you left the house you didn't worry about the phone, because the answering machine took care of that.
A bar in Brazil solved the problem. They serve beer in glasses that only stand up straight if they are leaning against a cell phone. So you are forced to have a conversation with the people at your table.
Which is great, because realistically no one is looking for you anyway, so being present in the moment really is the best option.
